Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell studied and worked at the top New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. As a youngster, growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. I could not learn or do enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase living conditions for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently is in the United States for various roles such as speaker and mentor.
