Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 Nair joined ABC News and was able to cover a range of news stories, including the probe into the death of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair was promoted to ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 with ABC News Now. Her responsibilities included anchoring news live coverage and also briefings for ABC's digital channels. Nair was co-anchoring World News Now on ABC beginning on September 17th in 2008. from September 17, 2008 until the 18th of February, 2011, as well as America This Morning. In both of the shows Nair was initially paired by Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair announced on Thursday, 17 February 2011 her last night hosting on World News Now would be the 18th of February, Friday. The day she would leave ABC News would be Friday the 18th of February. Peggy Bunker, a former anchor for KDVR Denver, was her immediate successor. In all three segments on World News Now's broadcast on February 18, Nair was honored by former and current colleagues such like Jeremy Hubbard. In her last day she treated her entire team to breakfast.
